Damn good. All day.

Permit Room Oxford

Bricked freshly into New Inn Hall St

Sun’s up, walk in. Slip into your favourite table – coffee’s hot, Breakfast Naan Roll dripping goodness. Lunch is light or long. Chaats, salads, maybe a Chicken Pick-Me-Up for afternoon picking. Dip, dunk, demolish. Polish off another. Tuck into an evening of neighbourhood revelry. Resident DJs spin vinyl weekly. Cocktails flow, local beers too. One more smoky sip of the Blushing Dawn Paloma. Come for a good time and a long time. Open to all.

Crunchy Samosas, Chicken Puffs, Crispy Chaats, rich Curries

Artwork lines the walls, if that's your thing

Lights dim, chai turns into cocktails

Where there’s music, there’s revelry.

We turn the volume up at Permit Room, taking cues from Slip-Disc jam sessions and Rang Bhavan in ’70s Bombay. Stick a song on the jukebox.

Edgy eclecticism. ’70s NYC and UK new wave. Art rock and disco. Original B-Boy and B-Girl hip-hop.

Every Thursday, resident DJs spin vinyl. Come for a beer, bite, boogie. Lift spirits ’til late. Open to all.

Food & Drink

Fill your morning cup with NewGround coffee, ethically sourced and roasted with conviction, just down the road. Full on feasts and nibbly bites. Snacks, chaats and savouries go perfectly with a Permit Room X Earth Ale Gose – think loud streaks of rhubarb and a hint of fig leaf. Spoonfuls of curries, fragrant pulaos, then finish sweetly. The Mango Lassi Soft Serve – swirled and sprinkled with fennel (drips in all the right places).

After the kitchen has closed, come for a late-night drink and snack. If you’re with a big party, it’s best to book in advance (you might be spread across some close-together tables). Any questions – chat with us.
