Rise early with steaming chai, a Bacon Naan Roll or spiced fry-up. Linger over lunch. Salads, fragrant pulaos and the Aloo Tikki Chaat (a roadside hottie). Sun dips, sip on cocktails stronger than your Aunty’s punch (voted ‘Best Cocktails’ at the 2024 BRAVO Awards). Eyes flitter between the Feni Martini or Thums Up Sazerac. Cold beers wash down curries. Then a sweet thing. Stay late – resident DJs spin vinyl. Come for a good time and a long time. Open to all.

We turn the volume up at Permit Room, taking cues from Slip-Disc jam sessions and Rang Bhavan in ’70s Bombay. Stick a song on the jukebox.
Rootsy beats. Tap toes to Blondie, Grace Jones, Talking Heads, early hip-hop and Asha Puthli.
Every Thursday, resident DJs spin vinyl. Come for a beer, bite, boogie. Lift spirits ’til late. Open to all.

Make mornings glorious with Tigermoth Coffee Roastery (bold, small-batch blends made by our friends in Lewes). Afternoon ice cream sandwiches are a sweet treat, made with Brighton’s frozen-favourite Boho Gelato (go for kooky Tutti Frutti). Sink into the night. The UnBarred x Permit Room Pineapple & Pepper Crumble is a special collab… best with evening snacks.
Bookings
Secure a table for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails! If the time you want isn’t available, simply swing by and walk-in (we hold lots of tables for walk-ins, and we’ll get you seated quickly). After the kitchen has closed, come for a late-night drink and snack. If you’re with a big party, it’s best to book in advance (you might be spread across some close-together tables).
Our Aunty Bar roof terrace is bookable during the warmer months (when it's not raining) – just leave us a note when making your booking and we'll do our best to save you a spot. Any questions – chat with us.
