Permit Room Brighton is mostly for walk-ins – but we do hold some tables for reservations. If you’re with a big party, it’s best to book in advance (you might be spread across some close-together tables). After the kitchen has closed, come for a late-night snack and a drink (walk-in or book).
Our Aunty Bar roofterrace is bookable during the warmer months (when it's not raining) – just leave us a note when making your booking and we'll do our best to save you a spot.

This is your permit to party. We’re hosting our first-ever New Year’s Eve knees-up and damn good start to 2025. All in. All out. Expect some of our best-ever cocktails, plates and plates of food and music to dance yourself to gloriously good health.
Tickets include: a Monkey 47 Welcome Drink (or teetotal), a full-on four-course Set Menu, an Espresso Martini at midnight and a DJ to keep you moving. You also have your table for the whole night – from 9pm ’til midnight and beyond. No rush, no fuss. Just flipping-magnificent celebration.
On top, we’re pouring a specially curated Monkey 47 Martini menu. Made just for NYE at Permit Room.

From DJ nights curated by our friends at Going South, to shindigs with local musicians, there’s an eclectic events mix at the Permit Room. We’re taking cues from the jam sessions at Slip-Disc and Rang Bhavan in '70s Bombay, as well as from everything Brighton’s got to offer.

Yes – but only when it’s open (during the warmer months and when it’s not raining). Speak to us and we’ll make a note on your booking if the Aunty Bar (roof terrace) is open.
We are. There is a single, small step at the front entrance, but we can provide a ramp for access. There’s also wheelchair-accessible seating and a disabled toilet on the same floor as the dining area. Just let us know anything further you might need – the team are here to help.
