In Brighton’s lanes: breakfast on bacon-filled naans, eggs, fruit, grains and all-round morning deliciousness. Early risers and lounging devotees – assemble! We’re a top breakfast spot on East Street, ideal for weekday meetings or long weekend brunching with friends. Every day, until 11:45am.
Fire up your senses with a strong cup of coffee, made by our friends Tigermoth Coffee Roastery in Lewes. Next: Breakfast Naan Roll, filled with a choice of eggs, bacon, sausages, double bacon (very good veggie and vegan options too).
Indulge in Bombay faves like Chicken Keema and Akuri Pau, packed with nostalgia. Or keep it light: House Granola, Fruit & Yoghurt, bottomless Chai for sip-sip-sipping.
For the bold: The Full Permit, a cocktail or two. Extra Masala Beans.
Smoked streaky bacon from Ramsay of Carluke, matured in the traditional Ayrshire way, then smoked over applewood and beechwood chips. Full-of-flavour pork sausages from Maynard’s Farm, deliciously vegan ones from Symplicity. Free range eggs from St. Ewe – an award winning family business – with rich yolks, saffron yellow, irresistibly drippy.
Good ingredients, from good pals.
Permit Room is mostly for walk-ins – but we do hold some tables for reservations. If you’re with a big party, it’s best to book in advance (you might be spread across some close-together tables). After the kitchen has closed, come for a late-night drink and snack (walk-in or book).
Our Aunty Bar roof terrace is bookable during the warmer months (when it's not raining) – just leave us a note when making your booking and we'll do our best to save you a spot.
